ILHS currently operates a variety of residential options in the Victoria region, including shared homes and apartments.

All the shared homes have wheelchair accessible features and provide each Individual with their own room. Some furnishings are provided, but Individuals are encouraged to decorate with their

own personal effects. Two of the homes have accessible, raised garden beds, where Individuals can grow flowers or food if they wish. Residential Care Workers are available on a 24-hour basis

to assist the Individuals to develop independent lifestyles to the extent they are able, and to participate in the management of household finances, decision-making, and directing activities of daily living.

Living in in these homes is an affordable option for those who receive Persons with Disabilities benefits (PWD) as they will be eligible for a BC Housing Rent Subsidy. To qualify for housing with the Independent Living Housing Society, once must require personal, intermediate or extended care, and must have been assessed and approved by Long Term Care or eligible services from Community Living British Columbia (CLBC).
